‘Color and Shade’ announced as winner of Roland DG’s FESPA 2017 GR-640 cutter competition
Print services provider, Color and Shade, has been announced as the winner of Roland DG’s FESPA 2017 competition, with a prize of a brand new CAMM-1 GR-640 cutter.
Founded by CEO Andreas Rösch in Germany in 2004, employing a team of five, the business focuses on digital print applications, from vehicle graphics, wraps and sun screens to textiles, signage, banners and more. Ideal as a stand-alone cutting solution or easily integrated into a digital print workflow when partnered with existing print devices, the new GR-640 will work seamlessly alongside Color and Shade’s current print equipment to speed up production and expand the range of media the company uses.
Mr Rösch comments: “I still can’t believe it! I’m really excited because winning the GR-640 cutter offers so much potential, it’s going to be a great addition to our business and I can’t wait to start working with it.”
CAMM-1 GR-640: the ultimate cutting solution
Launched in March 2017, the CAMM-1 GR cutter series is the fastest cutter in its class, delivering up to 1485mm per second.
The GR series is also impressively powerful when compared to some other cutters, offering up to 600g of downforce and a maximum media handling capability of 40kg.
While some other cutters offer only one cutting position, the GR features a dual position cutting carriage for standard and perforated cutting, ideal for die-cut decals.
Thanks to the 10 pressure settings of its electronically adjusted pinch rollers, the CAMM-1 GR cutter is incredibly versatile; compatible with a huge range of media; from sign vinyl and thick reflectives, to laminated graphics and sandblast masking materials, thin window tint film, soft flock and much more.
Other performance-enhancing features include an intuitive overcut function which emulates tangential cutting to deliver sharp, clean corners on challenging media and the Roland Quadralign™ optical registration system, which automatically recognises printer crop marks on media, so the GR can be combined with a large format printer for a precision, ultra-efficient print and cut workflow.
